There are many skin care experts, specifically dermatologists, who are constantly trying to battle the development of acne among patients.

At times, it can become way too overwhelming to seek out ways to overcome such a daunting and stressful skin disorder.

Of course, the presence of many anti-acne products in the shelves of pharmacies all over the world can simply state how common of a problem this is, yet not every single one of them proves highly valuable.

As a matter of fact, they may even contain ingredients which can cause some unwanted side effects, thus making the condition worse. This disorder, associated with the development of pimples on the face, can really cause a lot of frustration among individuals of all ages.

One would get the impression that acne is something that only teenagers would experience as part of growing up. However, even adults get to suffer from it.

There have certainly been a lot of treatments made available, but they’re pretty much rendered ineffective if one doesn’t take the time to research on what causes such a condition to grow into fruition so that they can get the best acne treatment for their condition.

It is essential that people actually take the time to research on the triggers that cause pimple outbreaks to occur.

Below is a list of these triggers.

  1. Changes in hormone levels – This is something which is pretty common among teenagers, especially when their bodies start to transition into adult hood. Testosterone levels are increased as teenagers mature, and this can cause the sebaceous glands to work overtime. Oils would be produced in excess, but when combined with dead skin cells, they can lead to the development of inflamed bumps on the face, which are essentially known as pimples.
  2. Dietary practices – There are a lot of people who don’t realize that they food s they eat have a lot to do with the development of zits, black heads and white heads. At times, people tend to eat greasy and fatty foods which have been deep fried or are processed. In such cases, these can contribute to the excess production of oils in the skin. They may also contain ingredients which can turn into harmful toxins that affect the health of a person’s skin. Hence, one must ensure that he or she eats healthier food choices, such as fruits, veggies, legumes, fibers and lean meats.
  3. Medication – There are some medications that cause side effects to the human body, among them being pimple development. It may be due to an allergic reaction to the potency of the compounds used for these medicines. This is something which is pretty evident with people taking meds that contain steroidal agents.
  4. sodaCaffeine – Consuming too much caffeine, especially in sodas and coffee, can lead to the dehydration of the skin. It will become dry, which then signals the sebaceous glands to produce more oil. Caffeine also has a hand to play in the release of the stress hormones in the body, which then affects skin complexion.

These are four major acne triggers that people need to be aware of in order to prevent the further worsening of said condition.
